Yash Raj Films next movie not titled ‘London Ishq’

Yash Raj Films (YRF) officials says that their next production, directed by head honcho Yash Chopra, is not titled “London Ishq”, as has been reported in certain sections of the media.

“Despite repeated confirmations that Yash Chopra’s film still remains untitled, large sections of the media continue to call it ‘London Ishq’. This is completely baseless, inaccurate and detrimental to the film,” said an official statement from YRF.

The yet-to-be titled film, starring Shahrukh Khan, Katrina Kaif and Anushka Sharma, started shooting for its first schedule in the third week of February in London. It has been creating a huge buzz all over since the first look was unveiled.

The film also brings together the Oscar award-winning pair of A.R.Rahman and Gulzar, who along with Chopra, are working on creating some wonderful and meaningful music.

Scheduled for a Diwali release, the film is expected to add the same fervour to the festive time that Chopra’s films are known for

After playing a simple Dalit man in “Aarakshan”, actor Saif Ali Khan returns as a spy in the thriller “Agent Vinod”, which is releasing Friday.

The film, made at a budget of approximately Rs.60 crore, has been shot in Russia and Switzerland, while in India it has been shot in Ladakh, Mumbai, Jaisalmer and Delhi. It took almost two years for Saif to complete the film.

Produced under Saif’s banner Illuminati Films, it also stars Kareena Kapoor, Gulshan Grover, Prem Chopra, Ram Kapoor and Ravi Kishan.

The story begins with a series of seemingly unconnected events, all over the world. In Uzbekistan, an ex-KGB officer is murdered. In Cape Town, a group of international business tycoons are seen discussing that the dead officer had a nuclear suitcase bomb hidden away.

In Moscow, an Indian secret agent is exposed and is shot dead while he was trying to send a coded message to India.

In India, the head of RAW sees the incomplete message, which has only number 242. To solve the mystery, Agent Vinod (Saif) springs into action. He has a relatively different way of solving cases, which often puts him into dangerous circumstances, but he still manages to get crucial leads.

He is sent to Moscow to investigate why his colleague was killed, where he comes to know that a Russian money launderer called Abu Nazar (Ram) has sent $58 million to a contact in Morocco, for an operation against India. He immediately jets off to Morocco, where he bumps into Mafidsi Kazan (Prem Chopra) and Dr Ruby (Kareena). Kazan is part Greek, part Moroccan, and part Indian. He is a ruthless man running the drug trade in the Mediterranean.

A series of twists and turns take Vinod across the globe from Marrakech in Morocco to Riga in Latvia, Karachi, Delhi and finally London, where he discovers the ultimate conspiracy.

Directed by Sriram Raghavan, Saif will be seen performing some daredevilry stunts in “Agent Vinod”. A film with a similar title hit the screens in 1977, with actor Mahendra Sandhu playing the lead role.

The makers insist that the new “Agent Vinod” has no resemblance to the old one but a dialogue in the film is indeed dedicated to the yesteryear actor, where someone asks “Agent Vinod” about his name and he says “Mahendra Sandhu”.

A lot of comparisons are being made between Hollywood’s “James Bond” movies and “Agent Vinod” but the makers are adamant that the character bears no resemblance to the British superspy.

Even before the release, “Agent Vinod” found itself embroiled in controversy after an Iranian music band Barobax slapped a legal notice against the makers and music composer Pritam Chakraborty for song “Pyaar Ki Pungi” over copyright violation.

The film caught attention for its sleek trailors, Kareena’s mujra song “Dil mufta ka” and, of course, its item number “Pyaar ki pungi” picturised on Saif.

Priyanka Chopra said that the moment I find a guy, I will get married

Actress Priyanka Chopra, who is planning to throw a hen party for her best friend Tamanna Sharma’s wedding, says she will get married when she finds Mr. Right.

Talking about her own wedding plans, Priyanka said: “The moment I find a guy, I will get married.”

The 29-year-old was talking at the launch of Big CBS’ show “India’s Glam Diva”.

The actress said: “We have got all the her trousseau done. All her clothes are done and her husband-to-be is not letting me do anything much but I think I will do a hen party.”

She and Tamanna have been friends for 12 years.

Priyanka ended 2011 on a successful note with “Don 2: The King is Back” and continued it this year with the blockbuster “Agneepath”.

She has wrapped up shooting for Kunal Kohli’s tentatively titled “Teri Meri Kahaani” opposite Shahid Kapoor, and is currently working on “Barfi” and “Krrish 2″

Priyanka Chopra named India’s Glam Diva

The title was given as part of Big CBS Love’s show “India’s Glam Diva”.

Priyanka was crowned by her fan Siddhi Singh, a Mumbai-based girl. The actress was named the winner on the basis of public voting.

On the finale episode, Priyanka will be seen sharing her ambitions and desires as an actress and a woman.

The actress has been successful with her movie choices and hasn’t given the critics much to complain about. Right from her character in “Andaaz”, for which she won the Filmfare Award for best female debut in 2002 to “Fashion” for which she recieved the National award for best actress, she has enthralled the audience in her a decade long career.

Jury member and choreographer Shiamak Davar said: “She wants to be number one; she wants to conquer the world; she wants to make it not only in India but globally – which is great.”

Priyanka is now also utilising her melodius voice to launch a music album in the US

Ready box office report

Salman Khan and Bollywood heartthrob Asin’s latest flick Ready has taken the cinemagoers by storm. The film was underrated before it hit the cinema, but within a couple of days after its launch, it transpires that the bad boy of Indian cinema Salman seems to have given another super hit.

He is the most trusted actor of the Bollywood, whose films do well almost always. It happens very rarely that a producer loses his money by casting Sallu in his venture. The indefatigable Khan always helps his producers make lots of money.

This is the reason that when every actor including Akshay Kumar have reportedly slashed their rates for signing a film, Sallu bhai has increased his rates. And producers instead of deserting him due to high rates, are flocking to his residence to sign him for his munh mangi qeemat.

Ready’s first day performance was extremely satisfying. It collected more than Rs 140 million, thus surpassing the record of Amir Khan’s super duper successful film 3 Idiots. Mind you, Salman Khan’s Dabangg holds the record for the highest first week grossing.

Bhushan Kumar, the producer is optimistic that despite the usual practice of panning Salman Khan’s film as ordinary, Ready is on its way to be the biggest hit of the year.  

In several places in the country, more especially in North India many show of the film begin at 5 am in the morning when it is still dark. Shah Rukh Khan, another Bollywood star and the bête noir of Sallu may rue the fact that he may never be able to get as good or half as good a response that Sallu gets from his fans.

The best thing about Ready is the fact that the response is getting better and better after every passing day. If the collection of the day one was 13.15 crore rupees, it went up substantially the next day and it has not declined even a bit

Bollywood Actor Shahrukh Khan was all praise for Salman Khan’s upcoming film Ready and believes it’s going to be a hit

Bollywood’s number one Khan, Shahrukh Khan believes that arch rival Salman Khan’s Ready is going to be a hit. The actor is reported to have told a leading tabloid that he feels optimistic about the movie and that it is going to be a huge success. Khan, however, hasn’t confirmed whether he, personally, will go to see the movie, but guarantees that his two kids would go and watch the film.

Ready has been one of the most awaited films of the year and promises full on entertainment. This comedy flick will see Salman Khan do what he does best – fight, romance a girl and do his awkward dance, not to forget, make his audience laugh.
